If you are someone who strives for greatness think about this and apply it. you can pick any famous figure from history and brake down there attributes that helped them achieve greatness. what you will see is passion, knowledge, dedication and courage. first you must become truly passionate about something. you must love it and crave it. second you must learn all you can about it "knowledge is power". third you must dedicate yourself 110%. there will be days when you want a brake, but greatness does not take brakes so be dedicated. forth you must have courage, everything will feel like its trying to stop you. people will try to knock you down. you will feel alone and you will feel as if no one knows what your going through. "nothing worth having comes easy" so when it feels like all odds are against you and you want to quit, you must be courageous.

"Birds of a feather flock together".... i love this quote because its so true. if you want to do amazing things then surround yourself with people that do amazing things. i used to be around the rough people who's only dreams was to have a nice truck and sleep with girls. loneliness, poverty and unhappiness is like the flu, if we are around it enough we will catch it. we have to free our selves from the bounds that weigh us down and learn to fly with the eagles. greatness enriches lives and encourages peoples ability to also be great. find the great people and you will discover the greatness inside you. I have found the great people and they have pushed me and lifted me.
  So do you want to be a scavenging crow or do you want to be a soaring Eagle...

THE RUN

Ok so yesterday i completed my first half marathon. This was not easy! the run was in St. goerge so me, Rach, Sarah and nayumi stayed with my cousin Dayna. we had to be at the high school at 7 to load on the buses. that night the last time i looked at the clock it was three thirty. i could not fall to sleep for the life of me! but when six o'clock rolled around i still got up excited and nervous. when we finally got loaded on the buses and headed to the top of snow canyon the ride toke forever and i thought the run would kill me i was so tired! but as we got ready to start the adrenalin kicked in and didn't kick out till about mill 8. at mile three i was going nuts and going way faster then i should of, probably thanks to two red bulls and a shot block. mile 7 i asked someone how long it had been which was 50 min. then i hit the wall! mile 8 my legs started to burn. mile 10 my legs were so sore it was hard to keep them moving. i went from a seven min pace to like a eleven min pace. mile 11 i was ready to start walking but i knew i would be outraged with myself so i kept that slow jog going. mile 12 my feet were about to fall off, then i seen the high school! everything went numb and i picked up the pace and finished the 13.1 miles in one hour forty seven min. It is amazing what we can do with will power. i thought about quiting a lot but i never wanted to! I can't wait to start training for the next one!

"sticks and stones will brake my bones but words will never hurt me" we were all told this when we were kids and to be honest i think we toke it to literal. have you ever been punched in the face?... it hurts. it hurts the next day and maybe even the next. but what we don't understand is that words also hurt! its because of one of gods greatest gifts that words hurt. emotion is one of the great things that make us human. and that's what we are, were all human, we all screw up. i have screwed up bad. BUT.... i have never woke up and thought to myself, today i am going to go talk about someone in hopes that it hurts them in some way. I swear some people do just that! sticks and stones may brake my bones, but words can last forever.

failure

have you ever just thought about the last time you failed at something?... what ever it was did you actually fail? was it a test, a race, a job, or maybe a relationship? but did you actually fail? the way i see it the only way to truly fail at something is to be in it one hundred percent. maybe that test you failed was not a failure, but something you didn't put on the line. you say you didn't have enough time to study but is that not just an excuse for its easier not to try then to fail. I am guilty of this! if you don't put your whole heart into something it don't hurt as bad when you don't succeed. now no one is perfect and everyone fails, but how we fail will determine who we are. Micheal Jorden played each game with all his heart, and with everything on the line. during his career he missed over 9000 shots, and lost almost 300 games. he was depended on to make 26 game winning shots that he missed. I believe God looks for great. greatness is not only success, greatness is triumph over adversity.

Now no one should go looking to fail, but no one should be scared of it.
