Atonement
"To atone is to suffer" suffer.... Such a terrible and horrifying word, i know because i looked up suffer to find a image for this post. what i found was unspeakable! that's when i realized there was no image or way to explain what our father and his son went through. how amazing our brother was to be the only mortal man able to survive the atonement process. he suffered for all the sins of souls to walk this world. after looking up suffer and seeing just a small window of suffering, pain and sin i don't know how its possible for any person, man or god, to endure such horrific suffering. It truly blows my mind! and to ask something like this to your son! no father could watch his own son suffer without suffering himself. so why?... It is because it was our greatest gift of all, the gift to one day return to our father and live with eternal life. no one is perfect, which is why the atonement came to be. It happened so each and everyone of us was given the chance to repent for our sins and follow the path to eternal life. I for one will use my free agency to cherish this gift, atone for my own sins and one day benefit from the atonement.

Kayden---
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my blog-I didn't know you were following it! I was happy to hear from you. Welcome to the world of blogging... I love that you started your own. It sounds like you're so happy with your new girlfriend and I couldn't be happier for you!! You deserve the best. Post a pic of this beautiful girl so I can see. And Kayden, the atonement is so real. It's for everyone, no matter what they've done. Being in Jerusalem and the place where Christ suffered for our sins has made me realize even more the importance of coming unto him. The greatest of joys are felt when you're doing the will of the Lord!
